Rue Stanley

Bio:

Rue Stanley is a mixed media artist based in Epsom, Surrey who has cultivated her distinctive style through an intriguing blend of inspiration, experimentation, and passion.

Rue draws from the whimsical and surreal. Originally inspired by the phrase “From Nature to abstraction” her themes span a vivid spectrum. Recurring themes include birdwings, the NASA Mars Explorer Mission 2020, and the vibrant spirit of Brazil -in response to the life of Antonio Salvador Bolivar (actor, tribesman & storyteller).A captivating series inspired by a dream of goats led to the creation of Pineapple Goat World. These diverse influences infuse her work with appeal, inviting viewers to explore alternate realities and hidden narratives.
Rue’s art defies conventional boundaries. It dances between abstraction and storytelling. Each piece can tell a tale or evoke pure emotion through colour and texture. Her work is vibrant, textured, and has been aptly described as sculptural. She crafts her artworks using a rich palette of materials: acrylic paint & mediums, glass beads, gold leaf, Copper mesh, maps and painted paper collage.
Rue is self- taught and thrives on pushing artistic limits. She’s a perpetual explorer, constantly seeking new materials and surfaces. Her latest experiments involve acrylic mixed media and alcohol ink on gold or silver aluminium panels. This spirit of exploration infuses her art with freshness and unpredictability.
Rue has been exhibiting and selling her work for five years in Surrey, Roy’s Art Fair will be her first London exhibition. Beyond exhibitions, her online art store allows global art lovers to own a piece of her tactile, joyful world.
Rue Stanley’s unique style emerges from dreams, experimentation, and a love for texture. Her art bridges reality and imagination, inviting us to explore the extraordinary.
